To run the risk of people spewing forth acronyms like ENFJ, ISTP or IBM or whatever those things are, I’m just going to say that Neyir just called me an extroverted introvert.
The comment follows both Neyir, my brother and my mother both being surprised when Neyir’s Mom said that my brother is as out going as me. They were surprised cause they think I’m NOT!
They were also surprised when Neyir’s Mom announced at our wedding that she was impressed with me because I helped out with the dishes the first Christmas she met me. On this occasion, my good friends JP, Marc, Darren and Significants were as shocked as well. I thought I heard some coughs covering some laughter guys…. Thought I didn’t hear you eh?
Could it be that my Mother in Law understands me better than anyone else? She must be a Kindred Spirit in this world of misunderstandings, bee stings, acronyms and global warming.

This is a Christmas Post to all of you readers. This may be our last Christmas in Edinburgh and we plan to enjoy it to the fullest. Really we are borrowing the idea of a Christmas Picture post from our Friends Bryce and Ashley. They decided not to have any more Christmass in Edinburgh. Tonight Neyir and I are watching the Christmas Classic “White Christmas”. My Mother and Father saw this movie on one of their first date (or maybe it was their first date) and apparently it is Neyir’s favorite movie.

You many not be surprised to hear of the following two occurrences:
After leaving the movie ‘The Devil wears Prada’ which, judging by the laughter and general good will emanated by my husband, I believe David enjoyed. The aforementioned turned to me and asked – ‘What’s Prada?’ I mean really, I can’t even remember a time when I did not know what Prada or Chanel was! I know I figured out who Michael Kors was when I was about 15 and spent my entire first pay check on one of his dresses.
Occasion two. We are relaxing in Paris, under the Arc de Triumphe and I am telling David about our plans for the remainder of the day (David liked me to be the Paris guide). I explained that we would walk down the Champs-Elysees, have a coffee and then wander leisurely back towards our hotel and get dinner. Can you guess, do you know what is coming???? David says with no hint of the shame he really ought to have been feeling, ‘What is the Champs-Elysees?’ Well there are moments that reality comes and smacks you in the face and that my friends was one!
If you identified with the title you are now vindicated

Now I know what I really ought to be posting about is some sort of explanation for my conspicuous absence or a detailed but not multi-screened narrative of our Parisian adventure, but well…I am not going to, that will come though!
I said to David this morning as he was preparing to stride out the door ‘that sometimes I really wish I was a man.’ To which I received a perplexed expression and a ‘I don’t!’ Now I went on to explain that in some ways it is just easier to be a man. On this particular morning I got out of bed 25 minutes before David and he was still leaving 10 minutes before me. Now there is no doubt that some of the things I choose to spend my morning time on are not necessitated by my gender (unless we want to get into a conversation about popular culture and its affect/pressure on women) no I like putting on a bit of make-up and making sure my hair is not offensive. No I just wish I had more time really, I wish I had oodles of time in the morning and still could have a nice leisurely breakfast – mmmm Paris breakfasts! No I know I choose to live my life and present myself the way I do and I also know that there is rationally no reason why I could not get ready in the same amount of time or even less than David but that I choose not to.
So If, when you look at our pictures of Paris, you happen to notice that there are bits and pieces of my hair that look distinctly pink and you wonder did I mean to present myself that way? Am I edging towards my husband’s teenage punky ways? Have I been listening to too much Clash? You can rest assured that you are not seeing things and I have not suddenly decided to don 18-hole docs. Rather due to stylist assistant error I had sections of bubble gum coloured hair while in fair France. Which was not my first, second or last choice and which has now been replaced with my initial choice which is some sort of darkish red.
I do like pink, just generally not on me.

Can you believe we are off to the continent again. This time it is Paris. One of my dreams in life was to learn french the way parisans want hear it, then go to Paris and speak french really badly. Alas, I can only go and speak french badly knowing that I suck at french. Ah well. As I told my advisor, we are going to Live it up!
Au revoir! A La Prochain! (excuse the lack of accents)
